Request A criminal replaces a divorced mom and steals her body for good.
Curtis wasn’t sure why his mum, April, had forgotten that he was coming home from college. He had called her a week earlier to let her know. Ever since he had returned home, she had been acting strangely. She was also dressing very differently, wearing outfits that were far more revealing than anything his mum would normally wear.
Now it was the day Curtis was due to go back to college, and he couldn't shake the feeling that his mother was trying to get him out of the door as quickly as possible.
He eventually drove away, but his mum wasn't standing outside waving him off like she usually did.
What a strange week it had been.
“Thank fuck he’s gone! These clothes are killing me!”
April quickly changed into something more comfortable before collapsing onto the sofa.
“If I’d known she had a kid, I would never have stolen her body. But there’s no turning back now.”
The truth was that the person Curtis had spent the week with wasn't his mother at all.
The criminal now inhabiting April’s body had assumed she lived alone and had no children.
Unfortunately for him, not long after the swap, Curtis had messaged his mother to say he was coming home.
It had all started when April came across a man in handcuffs, dressed in an orange prison uniform. Before she understood what was happening, the man muttered a strange collection of words under his breath.
Suddenly, April found herself looking at her own body.
Except she was no longer inside it.
Before she could even process what had happened, police cars arrived and surrounded her. Officers grabbed April now trapped inside the criminal’s body and dragged her away.
“Please! You don’t understand! That’s my body! I’m April! Please listen to me!”
Nobody believed her.
Back at April’s house, the criminal sat comfortably naked on the sofa, drinking a beer and watching the game. Every now and again, he looked down at his stolen body, still amazed that he had actually escaped.
Many miles away, the real April sat alone in a prison cell.
Tears ran down a face.
She missed her son desperately. Curtis had returned home, spent an entire week with the person who had stolen her body, and then left again without ever realising his mother wasn't there.
Now April was trapped in prison in a criminal’s body, while the man responsible was free to enjoy her life.
