The Prisoner Part 4: His Cruelest Game

The events of that drunken night had not been forgotten. Now, not only did Annabelle have to watch the guy use her body for whatever he felt like doing that day, but he also kept mocking her about trying to trick him into swapping back by saying he needed to be a guy again.

In one particularly nasty exchange, he agreed that actually, he would like to be a guy again and left the apartment.

Annabelle was upstairs when a male voice shouted for her to come down. With caution, she went downstairs, and as she looked into the front room, she gasped in shock. Her body was half-naked on the sofa, touching itself while an old, scruffy homeless man watched.

“See, I’m a guy again! And I thought, as this guy had no home, I would invite him up and let him have some time with your sorry, I mean my body. I’m sorry, isn’t this what you wanted? Remember?”

“I’m not sure if I’m drunk or high, but this is amazing!” said Annabelle’s body, which, to her horror, was now starting to remove bits of clothing. Somehow, this was painful to watch. She knew the guy had done stuff while in her body, but knowing that he had gone out of his way to swap bodies with a complete stranger was hard to accept.

“I think I’ll give him an hour, swap back, then just tell him it was all a dream. Blimey, these clothes smell!” said the guy, who cheered on the homeless man in her body, who was now putting on clothes that the guy had left out.

“You are sick!” said Annabelle, who could not watch anymore. But the guy told her that if she left, he would let the loser homeless guy stay in her body for longer.

This was a horrible choice, as neither option was really good for her. But she guessed that, although it pained her to make the choice, she would rather have the guy who had caused her life so much pain be in her body.

Annabelle sat there and watched. She was not going to show any emotion, even though the guy kept tormenting her. She sat there for the hour. She was quiet on the outside but crying on the inside. She knew that if she waited, just maybe, one day she might find a way to get her life back. But as she looked at her body, she was not sure what she was going to do if she got it back.

After watching the homeless guy in her body finish enjoying himself, the guy got up and told him his time was up. He asked for five more minutes. He wanted to feel that feeling again, but the guy was adamant.

Annabelle watched as the homeless guy stood up and the guy grabbed his arm. It was like fifty thousand volts of electricity were running through them. Their bodies shook until suddenly they stopped.

This must be how it worked: prolonged physical contact. He had grabbed his arm hard, but other than that, it must have been some kind of power or energy that the guy had that caused the swap.

That worried her a little. Did this mean she needed the guy to initiate the swap? If so, getting her body back might be even harder than she had thought.

The homeless guy, clearly now back in his own body, stole some stuff from the sideboard and ran out the door.

Annabelle found it an odd reaction. He had just spent an hour in her body, a female body, and had spent that time using her body to the max. But as soon as he was back in his own body, he returned to his world. She wasn’t even sure if he really believed what had happened was real.

The guy wet over to a mirror and checked Annabelle's body out he was almost making sure that he was back in her body he was so obsessed with her body. Annabelle found this strange and she wondered if he had some trouble with swapping before.

Seeing the swap was interesting to Annabelle, who, after taking some verbal abuse, watched her body go upstairs, probably to shower.

Five Minutes Too Late

Clair walked into her apartment to see her boss’s second in command, Mitchell, sitting there with two of his goons.

“How did you find me?” she said. A horrible feeling started in her stomach. She knew it was all over.

“No one can hide from the Boss. He has eyes and ears everywhere. Did you really think he would let you take an asset like that body without his permission?” said Mitchell, standing up and gesturing towards the table where the device sat, the same device she had used six months ago to trick ‘Jasmine’ out of her body.

“No, please. I don’t want to go back to my life. Please, I spent years paying off my debt in those vile clubs. I paid my debt back three times over, yet I was still made to serve those disgusting men your boss calls friends.”

“Oh, you won’t be going back to your body. No, I think your body is currently occupied by a lovely woman who just wanted out of her life. Where is the real ‘Jasmine’, you wonder?”

Mitchell pointed to one of the very tall goons standing behind him.

“God, I miss my body,” the big, tall bodyguard said, looking Clair up and down.

“No, no, no! I don’t want to swap into that body. I’m sorry I stole your body, Jasmine!”

Mitchell stood up and laughed as he walked over to the table and sat next to the device.

“Don’t worry, Jasmine doesn’t want her old body back. She likes the body she has now, and she’s given me permission to take hers from you. So you and I are going to swap,” said Mitchell as Jasmine grabbed Clair and pulled her towards the table.

“This is mental!” said Clair as she was tied to the chair and strapped up to the device.

Jasmine, from her new body, grabbed Clair’s hair.

“I do miss my hair!” she said as she turned on the machine.

The machine activated. Clair felt the familiar sensation as everything went black for a moment.

When she opened her eyes, she looked down in horror. She was wearing Mitchell’s clothes. She had Mitchell’s hands, Mitchell’s body and Mitchell’s face.

Across from her stood her former body — Jasmine’s original body — but Clair knew Mitchell was now inside it.

“Perfect,” Mitchell said, looking down and admiring his new body.

Jasmine, still trapped in the huge bodyguard’s body, smiled at him.

Before Mitchell could really start exploring his new form, the door burst open and armed police swarmed the room.

Clair was so glad to see the police until a massive policeman pushed her to the ground and put handcuffs on her. She was confused until the officer said,

“I’ve been waiting a long time to do this, Mitchell!”

If only they had arrived five minutes earlier, she would have been the one being comforted by a female officer, like Mitchell was in the body she had hoped to escape this life in.

Jasmine was also arrested, arguing that Mitchell was in her body as she pointed at him. Mitchell, however, was acting very convincingly as the scared hostage.

The only problem for Mitchell was that the machine had been taken by the police. They were unaware of its power. If they found out what it did, that would be a massive problem for him, and his boss would not be happy about it. It was not supposed to be taken out of his headquarters.

He decided that the police were not that smart and chose to wait before telling the boss that they had taken the machine. He had a body to explore.

Be Careful What You Wish For

Rachel awoke in her old bedroom. She felt down. She had recently gotten divorced and decided to move back to her dad’s farm, where she grew up, for a while just to reset.

She greeted her dad at the breakfast table and looked out over the field. To her shock, there was Rhubarb, a horse she thought was long dead.

“Dad, is that Rhubarb in that field?”

Her dad nodded as he sipped his coffee.

“Yup. Must be the oldest horse in the country. He must be over thirty now. We got him on your fifth birthday. Your face when you saw him was priceless. Shame about the guy who delivered him. They never found out what was wrong with him.”

Rachel put her hat on and walked over to her old friend. She had not thought about her horse for years. He looked a little tired as his head swung around, but he recognised her as he came over, and Rachel gave him a stroke and a hug.

“Rhubarb, I’ve missed you. Sorry I haven’t been to visit in a long time. To be honest, buddy, I thought you were dead.”

Rhubarb took a couple of steps back, almost like he understood what Rachel was saying.

“Seeing you has cheered me up. I’ve had a rough year or two, but I’m back for a bit, so maybe we can hang out. I don’t envy you your life your carefree life.”

Rachel spent the next couple of days with Rhubarb, telling him about her ex-husband and her divorce and how she had to leave her job. But what was strange was that sometimes, when she looked into Rhubarb’s eyes, she thought maybe he understood her. But maybe it was just her wishing he could reply, when really he had no idea what she was going on about.

Rachel did not get to see Rhubarb for two days, as she and her dad picked up some of her furniture from her old place and drove it home. It was late when she arrived home, but she was adamant that she was going to see Rhubarb. She needed his company, as she had bumped into her ex-husband and they had argued.

As she walked over to Rhubarb, she was more envious of him than ever. He never felt this way.

She told him what had happened and fed him some sugar lumps. She then looked into his eyes and said,

“Sometimes, Rhubarb, I wish I had your life.”

Suddenly, Rachel was looking back at her own body, which looked at her before standing up and jumping for joy.

“Finally! I’m out of that damn horse’s body! “It must have been nearly thirty years!”

Rachel went to talk, but nothing came out. She felt strange as she moved backwards.

She had four legs she could now fell them move she could feel her entire body and it was difference she was a horse she was Rhubarb.

“Feet, legs, arms, hands... They are new,” said the guy, whose hands squeezed his chest. Rachel watched as Rhubarb celebrated being human again.

Turning to look at Rachel, her body spoke, and she soon learned that it wasn’t Rhubarb in her body, but a guy who thanked her for uttering those words.

“I was the young man who delivered this horse to you nearly thirty years ago and made the mistake of saying what you just said.”

The guy was not going to say those words again, as he believed it might swap him back with the horse.

“Let’s just say I was jealous that this horse was more of a man than me,” said the guy as he looked down at the underside of Rhubarb’s body. Rachel knew what he meant, as she could feel it hanging there.

“Big mistake. Then I was the horse, and I have waited so long for someone to say the same thing and release me from that prison. Other than that year your father tried to breed from me, I hated it.”

Rachel was trying to scream out for her father or for anyone to help, but all she could do was neigh.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t swap back. I need to live life. I bet a lot has changed in thirty years. I can live as a woman. It beats being a horse, and you are a very attractive woman now.”

Rachel watched as her body left the barn. The guy was walking strangely. He probably needed to get used to having two legs again.

Rachel wanted to cry. She had somehow got her wish. She was Rhubarb, but this was not what she really wanted. She wanted her life back.

She had no idea what to do. All she knew now was that her body was gone, and the guy was unlikely to swap them back. Her only hope was that maybe another fool like her would come along one day and wish to swap lives with a horse. All the troubles she had been moaning about seemed tiny now as she stood on all four legs in the barn, alone.
