Mark put his headset on. He had chosen “Darren the Destroyer” six feet tall, massive muscles, the strongest character in the game. His friend Amy was going to be “Evie the Elf Archer,” and his other friend Luke was going to be “The Wandering Wizard.” This was going to be so much fun.
As the game loaded up, they were transported into their characters’ bodies.
Expecting to see strong muscles and Darren’s trademark hammer, Mark was confused when he realised he was holding a bow.
“What the hell? Why am I Evie?” said Mark as he looked at his friend Luke, who was running his hand down the Wandering Wizard’s long white beard.
“Oh yeah, Amy changed it last minute. She didn’t want to play as the stereotypical female character. She said all the women in these games are the same sex objects,” said Luke, now firing spells from his staff.
Mark looked down at his body. He had breasts. He had pointed ears. He then checked his character’s attributes:
High IQ
High Persuasion
Seduction Skills
High Archer Accuracy
Weaknesses:
Stealth
Strength
Mobility
“Mobility?” Mark stepped forward and tripped over his robes.
“Damn it!”
Amy then walked around the corner in Darren the Destroyer’s body.
“This is great! Look at my muscles now this is a real man!” she said, flexing and smashing things with her hammer, laughing.
“You switched our characters? I was meant to be him!” said Mark as he walked towards their first quest marker.
“Oh, you poor thing. I’ve told you I hate playing the female characters. They’re always made the same, just eye candy for guy players. Well, not today. I’m going to enjoy playing as Darren the Destroyer. Look at these perks…”
