Love Will Find A Way

 

Michelle stood there as her favourite band started playing her song. She turned to her husband and smiled.

“This is my favourite song, babe! Come dance with me!”

Connor stepped forward and started to dance with his wife. They had been married for 10 years, what a great 10 years it had been. As they danced, Connor felt on top of the world.

Then there was a bright flash in the distance. In a split second, Connor and Michelle’s perfect life was about to change forever.

“Oh shit! Look, I’m a chick wow, nice!” said the 19-year-old guy now in Michelle’s body feeling.

As the young lad grabbed at his new body, all around the field people were freaking out. Unknown to everyone on Earth, The Great Shift had just struck.

Connor’s body just stood there, looking down at his hairy hands. Inside, an old man looked stunned at his younger male body. He had been lying in a hospital bed in pain but now he was standing in a field, pain free. His hands ran over Connor’s muscular, fit body, and he smiled.

As Michelle’s body fumbled with itself and Connor’s body started running around, miles from the concert and miles from each other, Connor and Michelle were both discovering their new bodies.

Michelle was staring into a mirror at the reflection of a very sweaty, large man. She didn’t believe what she was seeing at first, but after pinching herself many times, she freaked out this was no dream. She fell to the floor stunned as she thought what had happened to Connor. 

Connor wasn’t sure where he was at first, but soon realised it was just long hair covering his face. He pushed it back behind his ears, catching on some large earrings. Then he noticed he was wearing a long, flowing dress and open toe sandals, revealing toes painted different colours. He looked up at a sign  “Wendy’s Wellness Retreat.” He found a mirror and saw a middle-aged hippie looking back at him.

After the initial shock, all they both wanted was to find each other. But in this now messed up world, that seemed very unlikely.

Still… somehow, they both knew love would find a way.
