Don’t worry, I will get bored of your body eventually. Then you can go back to your own life,” said Kevin as he patted Emily on the shoulder.
Her father, Richard, owned a local business and had sacked 20% of his workforce, replacing them with machines. Kevin did not like this and decided to act. Swapping into Richard’s body, he made the board reverse their decision and re-employ the people he had fired. The real Richard was now in the body of some random person on the street.
“My father is a good man!” said Emily to Kevin, who laughed and stood up.
“Oh, Emily… if you knew what I knew, you would not speak to the man again!”
Emily shook her head and stood up.
“If you’re going to cause trouble, then you will never see this body again. I will give it to someone who will not treat it nicely, and I will leave you in your dad’s body. Is that what you want?”
Emily stopped talking, shook her head, and sat back down.
“I will return soon, and this body will be yours again.”
Kevin stood up, walked towards the door, and picked up Richard’s credit card and Emily’s handbag.
A week later, halfway across the country, Kevin was having a lot of fun as Emily. He stood on the balcony with a very attractive woman he had met at a festival. They had drinks, they ate, and then he kissed her. It was not long until they were ripping each other's clothes off and falling onto bed together.
Kevin got bored about two weeks later, but he broke his promise to Emily. He couldn’t be bothered to travel back and return her body, so he simply moved on.
He found someone new and swapped with them, leaving his latest victim in Emily’s body. Emily remained trapped in her father’s body, while Kevin disappeared into yet another new life.
Just like that, Emily realised Kevin had never intended to keep his promise.
