Awkward

 

“I’ve seen it. My mum is a lucky woman,” said Tiffany as she wrapped a towel around her new waist.

“This is not funny! What are we going to do?” said Rick as he looked down at his stepdaughter’s body.

Tiffany watched as her hands grabbed her chest.

“Stop that!” she shouted. “You’re right, this is weird! We need to work out how to swap back,” said Tiffany, sitting down on the bed.

Tiffany and her stepfather Rick had never seen eye to eye, and last night, after an argument, they had both wished the other could see life through their eyes. Now that wish had somehow come true. They were talking about their argument when Tiffany suddenly remembered something.

“Shit! I have a date with Andy tonight. Oh God, I cannot believe this is happening!” she said.

Rick then remembered he had a one-year anniversary dinner with Helen, Tiffany’s mother, that same night.

They spent the rest of the morning and afternoon trying anything they could think of to swap back. They searched online and watched as many body-swap movies as possible for ideas, but nothing worked. Eventually, Tiffany and Rick begrudgingly decided to go on each other’s dates.

Rick stood in the doorway as Andy came to pick Tiffany up. He felt incredibly awkward in a dress and high heels as he slowly stepped towards Andy’s car. Tiffany had no real issue about going out with her mum. The problem was Helen had no idea about the swap, and after a lovely meal she was not discreet about what she wanted “Rick” to do when they got home.

Rick was having similar issues, but he was able to get home alone after what had been a very unpleasant evening. Andy was a loser, and hopefully Tiffany would understand why he had dumped him.

Rick expected Helen and Tiffany to already be home, but little did he know that Helen had gotten a hotel room for them. Tiffany was not sure what to do, but suddenly — and thankfully — she was back in her own body. Rick was also relieved to be back so he could finally enjoy his anniversary with his wife.

After getting home the next day, both Tiffany and Rick agreed to be more civil towards each other. Then Rick told her about dumping Andy.

“WHAT?!”

It turned out she was not happy about Rick doing that and stormed off to her room.

“That didn’t last long,” he thought as he went to get himself a drink. What a strange day.
