A Promise Is A Promise

Owen (26) had always kept his promises so when he and his mums friend Sarah (48) agreed after months of trying to swap back to accept there reality and live the best they could as each other she had asked him not to leave her husband because of her kids, which he planned to do they were both close to leaving for college anyway so he agreed, he only had to wait 6 months or so.

1 year later and as Owen tried to get a moment of alone time in the bathroom to relax and de stress there was a knock at the door.

“Mum I need the toilet!” Said one of Sarah’s lazy children who had decided to not go to college yet and have a gap year but all they had done was annoy him.

He put his dressing gown on and opened the door so Sarahs son could use the toilet, after he retuned to the shower hoping for no more distractions and to his surprise there were none, he was able to relax and had a very enjoyable time de-stressing himself.

When he came out of the shower he walked down stairs to see happy faces and what he had been waiting for had finally happened, the kids were off to college they had got into a really good college so decided to take it now than risk waiting a year. He had kept his promise to Sarah and as soon as they left weeks later he was ready to leave her husband but for some reason he could not do it he had grown comfortable in this house and life.

When Owen told Sarah he was staying she was surprised but was glad to see that he had grown slightly attached to her children and husband, in truth Owen knew that if he left he would be alone and he had grown to enjoy the company of family even if they were not his.
